  1. HP-UX 9.0 Networking Availability

  4. Following is a list of networking products and their schedule of
  5. availability on HP-UX 9.0.  Please set your customer expectations
  6. if you have a sale of an 890 or a 700/800 PA-RISC 7100 system
  7. (all require UX 9.0).  Existing customers can remain on the 8.x
  8. release until all the necessary products are available.

  10. Note that all UX 9.0 networking products are MP Safe, meaning they are
  11. supported on multiprocessing systems. Most products will be MP Aware in
  12. the UX 10.0 timeframe, but plans are not yet final. (MP Aware means
  13. that they take advantage of the multiprocessing.)

  16. NetWare/9000    1Q93 (includes version 3.11) (DART 9)
  17.                 NetWare 3.11 on UX 8.x is available today for 800s only.
  18.                 NetWare over Token Ring is scheduled for 2Q93.
  19.  
  20. LM/X            end 92 (DART 8)
  21.  
  22. SNAPlus Rel 2   1Q93 (includes 3770 and QLLC/X.25) (DART 9)
  23.                 SNA Plus over Token Ring is scheduled for March/April 93.
  24.                 SNAPlus Rel 1 for UX 9.0 will be available as a special
  25.                 for certain 890 customers.

  27. OTS/9000        end 92 (affects X.400, X.500, FTAM and MMS) (DART 8)

  29. FDDI            1Q93 for 700 add-on EISA cards (DART 9)

  36. OpenView        2Q93 for Network Node Manager 3.3 and Extensible SNMP Agent
  37.                 (NSMD is also looking into patch release earlier, but
  38.                  nothing is firm. Node Mgr may work on 9.0, but is not
  39.                  tested or supported.)

  42. DART 8 is currently scheduled for December 30th.
  43. DART 9 is currently scheduled for February 28th.

  45. Please note that these are calendar dates and are subject to change.

  47. Other Networking products such as ARPA, NFS, Ethernet/802.3, X.25
  48. and Token Ring (for 800) will ship with the UX 9.0 application release.
